Ok I see, so you were talking about the open wp all the time and me, about the closed wp, hence the confusion ;)

No problem! And it wasn't me who was asked to pay extra, it was someone above, who now clarified that they converted his application to an open WP ;) good luck with your application!

I'll probably keep posting questions etc, so you'll see me around :P it's good to talk things through here! Good luck all you guys with your permits, I'll be applying in May, I think.

It still says 155. It says to extend your stay as a visitor it's a 100, and that's for ppl who are here as visitors, not workers (not the same thing),is what it looks, maybe you had to pay for a visa as well, along with the wp?...How much did the system, when you were applying, ask you to pay??? Luckychamp what for did you apply exactly and what does it say on your receipt (does it say 255 and if so,for whar)?

I remembered I called the agent and he guided me to pay additional $100....call CIC agent and double check

Look through the conversation we just had above - I am talking about a closed LMIA exempt WP, and it seems you were talking about an open WP, in accordance with this which states that http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp#visas_permits - a WP is 155 PLUS the open WP fee of 100CAD, so all is clear now. For open WP it's 255CAD, for a closed WP it's 155.

Hello guys,

I am new to this thread and I have a question. Do you have any idea which one gets processed faster, online applications or paper?

Also, when you apply online, do they later request you to submit your physical passport?

I guess those were two questions :)

I believe paper one is faster than online if you are talking about WP extension....but for that, you don't need to send them original passport.....however if you are planning for TRV then online is faster than paper base and you need to send them passport upon their request.

Hey guys,

I don't know if my employer needs to apply for LMIA. I have a CSQ under PEG and I'm working with post graduate work permit. on the quebec immigration website http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/stay-quebec/application-csq/students-peq/after-csq.html#permit it says my employer is exempted from LMIA. What do you guys think? Can someone share their experience with me?

Thanks

Thank you luckychamp, yes I meant WP extension, not TRV.

So you mean that WP paper based applications seems to be processed faster? And that I don't need to submit the psychical passport for WP (either online or paper?).

Thanks again for your help, I am a bit clueless about how this process is.

My inquiry about the passport is because I am waiting for my final step in my PR, but my current permit will expire soon. So I was wondering if I could apply for extension of my OWP but keep my passport in case CIC asks for it for the PR.

Hello guys,
please help,
I am applying to extend my work permit. I am LMIA exempt. My employer submitted the offer online Via employer portal. I just want to ask where to find the number of employment offer. will they send an email or will I find it on Employer portal? Please advise. some other thing,do I have to submit an actual offer of employment with my application with a letter head and all these information, or the number of the online offer will be enough?
thank you

Do you mean my timeline for my PR?

It's on the left, under my user.

There're two things missing there:
RPRF request: March 03rd, 2016
Scanned copies of new passports (the passport I submitted back in 2014 it's expiring soon): March 08th, 2016
