well, I am not sure about this. cuz all i Know is that there is an additional fee of 100 since last year. but you can always call cic to confirm from their agent. word of caution, if you eventually would have to pay the fee, and you dont pay it in specified time, your application is at the risk of being rejected.

Where did you get this information from? I judt had my doc list generated and its says 155CAD, with a remark that the final fee will be determined in the process.

and are the prices for a regular WP and a PGWP the same? Maybe not? for a regular WP (LMIA exempt, anyway), it says 155CAD

I have applied for closed work permit. But the letter I got says "As per the new Citizenship and Immigration fee schedule in effect February 21, 2015, a new Open Work Permit Holder fee in the amount of $100.00 is required, in addition to the $155 processing fee."
It seems they confused for the application. I talked to agent today. He says you can communicate with cic through the fax number provided in the letter. I faxed a letter regarding clarification. Let's hope things go well.

It's possible they didn't confuse anything - if you let them know that your partner has a job/studies in Canada, they might have converted your application to an open work permit application, pursuant on you paying the due amount. Did you try calling them again??

still no news and the web page say they are processing dec 9 aplications
So what happens to y application
why no news

I called 1 888 242 2100

no human, just machine and said that my application is in proces

How can I find a real person and ask my situation? Any idea?

Talked to an agent again and find some mistakes in my-side. Instead of LMIA exempt I have filled "Others" category which I did in previous years(2014 and 2015) also but without any problem. In my offer letter also My employer did not mentioned the LMIA exempt Number (New for this year). I think I am lucky that I also sent my wife's study permit along with application, thats why they converted it to open work permit. Today I paid the additional $100 and sent the other documents required for open work permit.

Hope things will go smoothly after this.

Numair is right .... I also applied in Nov 2015 and double checked my receipt....I paid $255 .....its clearly mention for extension you have to pay additional $100 then your total come up $255 else your application will be declined .....

If you checked your receipt that means you paid the amount upfront, so it was indicated as you were getting ready to pay, yes? In other words, the online system asked for 255? It must be something new, then, last year it was155..and it still says here it is..... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp#visas_permits

Weird.
In the case of the person who initially had that problem it iturned out they are considering his application as one for an open wp (post above).

What kind of permit did you apply for? And did you apply online or on paper?

It still says 155. It says to extend your stay as a visitor it's a 100, and that's for ppl who are here as visitors, not workers (not the same thing),is what it looks, maybe you had to pay for a visa as well, along with the wp?...How much did the system, when you were applying, ask you to pay??? Luckychamp what for did you apply exactly and what does it say on your receipt (does it say 255 and if so,for whar)?
