I wonder if anyone has any experience with this new employer form and fee for LMIA exempted work permits, more particularly, what if the Canadian employer does not actually pay the salary (which means they might not want to pay the fee) as the salary is paid by your original country's institution or you are grant-funded? Does anyone know if there's a way for the original insitution, the one paying the salary, to pay the fee? I am a non-stipendary fellow at a Canadian university, I've been here for almost a year and I would like to extend my stay for next year, but I am funded from a grant that I got in my country of origin, and I am paid through that grant. I tried the CIC webpage and their embassy in my country, but maybe there's someone there who can help?

The other question I have is, there is a requirement for a valid ticket or itinerary, but I'll be applying from Canada and I won't have a ticket like that, and yet in the application itself it says it's a required document (although on the document checklist it says "if you have one") - can anyone explain that?

Thanks!

PS - when the employer is supposed to submit the job offer form, how are they to do it, by mail, or online?

hey, don't know yet, I decided to wait until they accept my application for my fellowship extension first, and then tell them they will need to pay the fee (which is the only thing I worried about, really, but it's a lot:/). How about you?

Hey I can't answer your first question but for the itinerary just make a Word document that says "my application is filed from within Canada, therefore I do not have travel plans to Canada" or something like that and upload that. That's what I did and my app was approved.

Hi Everyone!

Please help!!!
I applied for an extension of my work permit online under LMIA exempt category as I got my pnp approved. But, the problem is I applied on the same day my work permit was suppose to expire. Also, I made a mistake because I was in hurry to apply. Where it ask to select your current country of residence and current status in form IMM5710 - I selected Canada and Worker but Wrote the wrong date in "To" and "From" category. Will CIC reject my application? Should I withdraw it? But, then I wont be under implied status :(

Please reply!!!
Thanks

Hey,
thanks for your help! I only realized now that you answered, sorry for delayed thanks! So, I will only post that I live here and do not have travel plans, although from what I read on the forum, some people called CIC and they told them it's a bug they have on their website and the itinerary is not required for WP extensions... at any rate, in case the bug is still there, I will do what krishnalynn said, thanks so much!

As for the fee, in case anyone is interested, I called the Canadian embassy in Poland (where I'm originally from) and they said it has to be the Canadian employer no matter what.
