I wonder if anyone has any experience with this new employer form and fee for LMIA exempted work permits, more particularly, what if the Canadian employer does not actually pay the salary (which means they might not want to pay the fee) as the salary is paid by your original country's institution or you are grant-funded? Does anyone know if there's a way for the original insitution, the one paying the salary, to pay the fee? I am a non-stipendary fellow at a Canadian university, I've been here for almost a year and I would like to extend my stay for next year, but I am funded from a grant that I got in my country of origin, and I am paid through that grant. I tried the CIC webpage and their embassy in my country, but maybe there's someone there who can help?
The other question I have is, there is a requirement for a valid ticket or itinerary, but I'll be applying from Canada and I won't have a ticket like that, and yet in the application itself it says it's a required document (although on the document checklist it says "if you have one") - can anyone explain that?
Thanks!
PS - when the employer is supposed to submit the job offer form, how are they to do it, by mail, or online?
