Thanks for your response.. i have submitted an online application and called them the agent said i have put a note on your file. If they will have any question they will contact you..

On the other hand I have another question for future. The way my PR application is progressing, i am afarid that my CSQ would expire. What should i do in that case. I know CIC will ask them to renew it but what should I do for my work. They would need a new csq too???
Thanks once again

Are you an inland applicant? And when is your CSQ expiring? It normally takes between 12 to 15 months to process PR under QSW for inland applicants.

Yes, you would need a new CSQ in this scenario, however, your employer won't need a new CSQ. You just need to have a valid WP and a valid SIN in order to work in Canada.

My CSQ is expiring in 3 months from now. I applied for my PR late. However, my WP application would be approved by then (as per CIC it will be processed by Feb 20..finger crossed).
My employer paid the compliance fee and gave me the offer for next 2 years..Will I get the WP for same duration?

I am anticipating my PR in in 8-9 months. From what you are telling me, i just need to wait for PR after my WP approval.

You need to write a request to MICC to issue a new CSQ for you explaining your situation. They will not issue you a work permit which exceeds the validity of your CSQ. Neither will you be able to land as a PR if your CSQ expires before you get your COPR.

Hi,

I got my Work Permit Extended today. It is beyond my CSQ expiry. Although, they did extend it till my Passport expiry. There is a remark on my work permit that says that you new to renew your passport to extend it further.

Hi guys,

So do we need to have a LMIA and does the employer needs to apply for LMIA? I'm on the same boat: a valid CSQ holder and applying for a work permit extension from Post graduate WP.

BTW, how long does it talk to get the extension?

Thanks a billion!

If you have a valid CSQ and you have a job offer then your employer will have to have a compliance fee of $230 and give you a OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT NUMBER: A00xxxxx to apply for closed work permit.

Do we have to provide employment number ? It says on CIC that it only require Compliance fee and Offer of Employment letter to be submitted by employer.

When I went through this process last year it wasn't possible. You have to apply for a closed wp

Is the employment number required for extension of the work permit??
