Hi All,

Just wanted to know a little thing...I've sent off my application for a work permit extension to Alberta and am awaiting the result of my LMO application, complete with all the requirements they ask for with a pending LMO. My present permit expires Dec 26th so I will go into implied status following that.

If for some reason my LMO gets rejected, but I don't inform the CIC office in Vegreville that I have been rejected, can I continue working in implied status until the they get to my application (presently after 76 days) or do I have to inform them right away?

Thanks,

Colm

Yes you can work under implied status (it is one loophole in the Regs) but if no LMO received by Vegreville when the application is opened, it will be refused, and it will be probably after 90 days, so the you can restore your status and will have to leave.
