Hello experts!

I am on PGWP in Canada and my permit is expiring on January 15, 2024. I am worried about my options on how to renew or keep working in Canada legally after it expires.
My OINP application is in process for nomination and I think I might not have received the ITA before my work permit expires based on the current processing times.

Can anyone please guide me on what to do and what are my options?

Would really appreciate it!

Thanks all

Is your employer willing to get an LMIA? If so, you can switch to a closed work permit.

My employer is not willing to give LMIA.
No new public policy has been announced by IRCC for 2024. So as of now, extending your PGWP is not possible.

The LMIA is the only option I see.

Just for my own knowledge. If i am in Ontario working part-time remotely for an employer is Quebec, can they issue me LMIA?
Is there any restriction for employer in Quebec or working part-time?

There's no restrictions on provinces.

To the best of my knowledge, the job needs to be full time for the employer to get an LMIA. I am not 100% sure of this though.

Thanks. LMIA is not the way forward for me.
I was wondering if i can apply for BOWP before AOR(because i might not get it before the work permit expiry) and since BOWP application could take some time, I can submit the AOR through a webform once i receive AOR (maybe a month later)?
I am not sure if that's possible. what do you think?

I don't think this will work. Maybe see what others say. You need AOR to apply for the BOWP.
