work permit - does not authorize re-entry

Hi Guys,

I have a work permit and it say's at the bottom - THIS DOES NOT AUTHORIZE RE-ENTRY.

How would one be able to leave the country and re-enter if this is the only legal piece of canadian document we have on hand?

Any experience /advise would be appreciated!

You need a TRV.

How did you enter Canada? If you're from a country who needs visa to enter Canada then you have a visa (TRV) foil pasted on your passport. If it's multiple entry you can leave nd then re enter on or before its expiration date.

Visa expired, been here for a while, work permit gets continuously renewed each year as permanent resident application is still in process and is taking longer than usual due to certain complications.
but will try for a TRV from within canada then.
