Hi,
I intend to apply for a Work Permit to launch my business in Canada. Do I apply for my family as well along with my application or do I apply just for myself and if I do get a Permit, only then should I apply for the family?
I need to find the preferred option so that there is a lower chance of rejection.

Thank you for your time.

What program did you go through to be eligible for a work permit - SUV or PNP nomination? You would have declared them during the process.

Hope you are working with a good Canadian immigration lawyer as you need to show significant economic, social or cultural benefit with C11 with your business plan and business. It used to only be for coaches, professional athletes etc. Yes you can apply for your spouse (SOWP) and children (study or visitor visa depending on ages). This is not a PR program but for temporary residence only as I thought you had to go through PNP Entrepreneur for this.

Entrepreneurs/self-employed candidates seeking to operate a business- C11
Applicants seeking only temporary residence

Foreign nationals applying to work for themselves or to operate their own business on a temporary basis must demonstrate that their admission to Canada to operate their business would generate significant economic, social or cultural benefits or opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents pursuant to paragraph. Benefits to Canadian clients of a self-employed worker may be considered in this case, particularly if the worker is providing a unique service. If the applicant intends to start or buy a business and eventually stay in Canada on a permanent basis, officers should encourage the applicant to apply for permanent residence.

Applicants seeking eventual permanent residence
There are two categories of potential permanent residence applicants who may apply for a work permit under this category:
• Actual or potential provincial nominees undertaking business activities;
• Quebec-destined entrepreneurs or self-employed persons issued a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).

Applicants in these categories have demonstrated that their admission to Canada to begin establishing or operating their business may generate significant economic, social or cultural benefits or opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Thank you for the reply.
My business plan does have a significant economic benefit (of course it is not a multi million dollar venture but is a significant in the healthcare domain).
I have created my business plan, financial workflows and outlooks, marketing plans and proceeding to incorporate a company in partnership with a canadian resident.

Do i still need a lawyer in your opinion?

Thank you for your time

C11 is a work permit, not an immigration program like SUV or the PNP enterpreneur programs. Few entrepreneurs would use this path so get a lawyer.
I understand. I will look for a lawyer to handle this.
Thank you for the reply and for your time.
