I don't have a LMIA and yes my my company has applied for my WP extension.

You can't switch employers on a closed work permit. You need approval from thr new employer first.

Yes a new employer is willing to hire me. Could you clarify more? I'm assuming that according to this rule https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ence/work-permit/changing-employment.html#s42 one can change employers even on a closed work permit because of covid situation.

I'm assuming that what you have done it too? Could you please help me on this? Should the new employer have a LMIA positive for me?

Hi Suvi - were you able to find your solution? I need to change my employer and was wondering if its possible. I am on a closed work permit (LMIA exempt) and just got a job offer from a my dream employer, Wondering if there is a way??? can you please help!

Hi. I'm sorry I ended up staying on the same job so didn't switch my work permit. But I guess there is an option to switch because of the new law that I have mentioned in my previous comment. You can check that route. Sorry that I couldn't help much.

you can always send a web form with a priority code to inform IRCC about changing employer once you have sent a new work permit application
