Work Permit Applications at NYC for 2013

Got my passport back 14 days after. 14 days is the maximum waiting time to receive it according to what I've read.

I am planning on dropping my passport for visa stamping in person as there have been several cases of lost passports in Mail/Courier at NY Consulate, does anyone know if they accept passports in person ?

Please do let us know as soon as you get your approval. It has to be in couple of days. I am still relying on your approval because I applied with LMO too.

Dear Friends,

I applied on 11-Nov-2013 - TWP.
Non - LMO application.
I received passport request on 12-Feb-2014 (exactly 3 months completed).
I sent in the passport 12th Feb Evening 6.00 pm and the passport received NY-embassy 11.00 am 13th Feb (today).
Waiting for passport return.
At the same time, my wife applied for open work permit. She did not receive any letter.
We are waiting for her application approval. we applied on the same date. We both applied for open work permit. is it due to she already have visit visa or TRV for Canada valid up to 2015 and does not require new visa stamp.
Does she get the open work permit at the border - Can anyone please suggest.

AS per my attorney :::

Yes they accept passport in person only on wednesdays 8:30 am to 10:30 am except during statutory holidays (NYC office will be closed on feb 17th for president's day holiday). However they provide service to the first 100 applicants only.

you also have an option to use Drop box at consulate mon-thursday 8:00 to 10:00 am and 1:00pm to 3:00 pm , friday 8:00 to 11:00am except on statutory holidays.

Please check however for the exact contents .

I applied in mid Jan. Well I think we will be getting confirmation at the same time. Its not been even a month. What are you frustrated for? We might get confirmation in March. Lets hope for positive reply soon.

Hi,Jas_dhillon90, I applied kind of late, on Jan, that's why I am so frastruated in waiting.

It has been at least 3 months for everyone waiting here. So be patient. In my case, with LMO filing started in May 2013 which got approved in mid Oct. Then filed for WP & until today waiting......Especially after thanksgiving WP processing was very very slow until 2nd week of Jan. It has just picked up pace.

passport request: Feb 13, 2014

for people who are waiting - make sure that your passport expiry date is good for the duration you are applying - in the mail, they told me

Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

i only looked at my passport after i got the message - but to my relief - it is expiring in 2016

I received an email requesting for passport! Had applied on Nov 22nd for ICT work permit (without LMO).

Will send my passport soon and update the time of processing.

Veer did you try checking? you should have the confirmation by now. November 27 with LMO already got one.
