Work Permit Applications at NYC for 2013

This is the respons to my enquiry status applications:

All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received.
An exact schedule of completion is not available at this time as our
processing time is a minimum of (30) thirty days. Our office is
currently finalizing applications received on March 20, 2013

If you wish to withdraw your application, please send a message to this
e-mail address. Please be sure to put the following in the subject line:
"Request to withdraw application". In your email, please be sure to
include your full name, your date of birth, your sex, your passport
number .

Hi GML25MAR,

When did you hear back from the consulate regarding your request? I had sent a request last Monday to know the status of my application and they answered that they are still processing applications from March 14th.

Thank you very much,
I have still a doubt.

If I apply ONLINE I do not need to submit original passports.
and If I apply with application form in hardcopy , I need to submit the original passports.

Am I correct ? Pls guide.

For online application, it depends...if your work permit is approved and they requested for your passport...you have no choice but to submit it. If paper application, majority of the applicants submit their original passports along with the other documents.

As for me, should I get my positive LMO, I will be applying for a Live In Caregiver work permit (God willing). It used to be my dilemma...that is if I should submit my original passport....but now, to tell you honestly, I am decided not to include my original passport with my application. However, please note that I am applying for a Live In Caregiver permit. I am not sure if the same applies to other type of work permit.

I got my passport back within 1 week @ after submitting it to the LA Consulate.

I was not sure whether we can submit our passport to LA consulate though the Temp work permit got processed in NYC .

Now that I am sure , when I get passport request I will send it to LA.

The letter requesting me to send the passport had a link on which locations to send my passport. From the link, I chose US, US had 2 options: LA or NYC. I sent my passport to LA since it was closer to me.

My work permit was processed in NY, I believe that all new work permits processed online are now processed in NY.

I Sent my Work Permit Visa package With original passport Through USPS. USPS tried delivering it today but business was Closed (Saturday). when checking Status online USPS website shows redelivery will not be attempted. unless requested by the embassy and the package will be Sent back to me if Unclaimed for 5 days. Do you know if USPS Will redeliver or embassy will ask for redelivery. What Can I do at this point?
