Work permit application

HI everyone!!!

I apply online for my workpermit it says on the website of cic that its gonna be 30 days for processing. I apply inside Canada. After i send my application online i got a confirmation from them send through my email that they got my application complete with application number. After 36 days i call the CIC call centre and asked about the status of my WP. The agent said theres a problem with my LMO (unnamed positive LMo) Because my name was not in the LMO. Then i call my employer regarding this he said there is ref# thats in LMO that they gonna enter on computer and they will see your name. But i got confused to because if CIC need other doc. regarding my application they should send me an email regarding this matter.

PLS...help

LMO has numbers and it should be attached under your name. You have to find out with your employer if its 100% sure LMO is on your name.

They implemented a rule last June that if an employer has an unnamed lmo, They need to advice HRSDC that they have found a suitable person for the job. And HRSDC will then send a confirmation letter or named LMO that has the applicant's name on it. This is what the worker can use to apply for work permit.

They used to allow workers to send in the unnamed lmo for work permit application but not anymore.

This is to protect foreign workers from fraudulent employers using fake or invalid unnamed LMOs.

Hi Marciangal,
My employer told me that they already fax my name to be included in LMO this oct. 8. How many days do you think would i need to wait for the decision of my work permit? Is there a bigger chance i got a positive result with this?

Yes i provide the LMO # my employer already submit my name with this unnamed LMO last july 2013 to be added. Then when i call the call centre they advice me to call my employer that they have to call the HRSDC to confirm my name that they already add. actually they fax again my name last oct. 8. then when i call the call centre they said i have to wait for the decision. is there a bigger chance to have positive result on my wp?
