Unfortunately that processing time doesn't apply to OWPs submitted with inland spousal sponsorship applications. That processing time is for other classes of work permits applied for from within Canada. We used to see people get their work permits within the 3-4 month range. However since this new year, this has increased to 4-5 months typically. See IRCC info here:

I didn’t apply on spousal sponsorship I applied for a BOWP and it is listed as an extension when I called before and they said it is listed as an extension and the processing time applies

Sorry - my mistake. So you applied for a BOWP based on Express Entry ITA or a PNP nomination - correct?

I misread and thought you were going through inland spousal sponsorship.

In that case the 89 days applies normally - but of course hard to say now. Good luck - hope you hear something soon.

But just to add... If you applied for a BOWP, then you have submitted this application while you still held a work permit and have implied status to continue working while you wait for the BOWP result.

Applied: WP extension on 22 November 2019 paper application but no response at all.

Ihave just been informed by my employer that my had been referred for further review on 20th February 2020 to Ottawa. But no communication by either Immigration office yet.

Does anyone know why did this happen. How long would it take. Did anyone face this situation before?

I applied for a closed work permit Jan. 30, 2020 inland, online. No decision yet, it only says background check is in progress. Hopefully it gets approved by the end of April.

Same here mate I haven't heard anything either as of November 22.

Do you know if they still working or not. If not when they gonna resume work?
They maybe still working. My friend got his study permit this week.
Have you received the biometrics letter?

 I wish they'd put that on the website. It seems straightforward until you read about a caveat for this, a caveat for that. *sigh*

Thanks for the info!
