Sad to say..mostly ng company dito..kinukuha passport ng mga employee nila..unless nalang ung ibang freezone...they want their employee to keep their own passport..like dun s company ng asawa ko...pero kung kailangan mo naman ..request lang ipapahiram naman nila syo..pero sa case ko..indi na hiningi ng visa office ung passport ..humingi lang sila ng photo copy plus the copy of my visa.april applicant din ako.

@ per thanks a lot, by the way im applying from Kuwait, regards :)

@ hothunk74, as per previous experiences of applicants, if your application is in Abu Dhabi Canadian Embassy you can only get your approved visa from Abu Dhabi, anyways they give you 1 month to submit your passport so you have a lot of time to return to UAE..... In case the applicant has applied in UAE Embassy and has returned to Phils. for good then that's the time you have to follow certain procedures to transfer your application to the Phils., then you have to wait again and eventually get your visa from the Canadian Embassy in Phils. ;D ;D ;D

:( guys bad news.

follow the link above.

June 11, 2013 — The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.

Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

Hey Guys,

Let us not conclude that this will automatically affects us..... It does not specifically state that Verification Officers in Abu Dhabi are included, it only says "OVERSEAS". I doubt that all countries are experiencing this problem. Like any other strike, some of the members may not participate on this. We should not assume the worst when we have no solid basis..... We just keep praying and hope that everything goes smooth in the following days and this does not affect us in any way because 8-10 months is already too much. ;) ;) ;)

Information is good and I personally encourage sharing them, most are very helpful but it is better not to jump on conclusions right away especially when the article is not specific.

hi everyone just got passport request to be submitted before 7/7/13.. does anyone know how long does it take to get my passport back???
