work permit after studies

Hi guys

Im applying for 2 year course program and i receive a admission letter mentioning
length of program: 2 years(4 levels)
start date:08/09/2015
Expected end date:30/04/2017 (total less than 2 years)

It means i have less than 2 years so will i not be eligible for my 3 years work permit? or will i receive work permit for 1.6 years only?

Hi Hit Man,

The Canadian education system is some what different to the one in Asian countries. Here they consider 8 months of studies as 1 year and 16 months of studies to be 2 years.

So once you complete your 2 year program you will be eligible for a 3 year work permit.

You will get 3 year post study work permit......16 months of study in canada is equivalent to 2 years so u will 100% get 3 year work permit
