Hey All,

I just have a quick question for anyone who has worked in the Oil fields in Alberta. I am currently working in Ft. Mac on a 21 day and 7 day rotation.
I would like to know if CIC will calculate my hours worked differently from a normal person who works 8 hours, 5 days a week for 4 weeks. Since I work 21 days straight and 14 hours a day then get 7 days off.

Thanks in advance for any answers...

Your letter of employment should just describe your schedule, IRCC is familiar with alternative schedules. You are clearly full-time (more than 30 hours per week pro-rated for your schedule). So you do not "calculate hours" for full-time work, only for part-time work; for full-time work, you just count the weeks. Your weeks would be counted from date of hire (including your "off" weeks).
