What you need to understand in calculating your 1560 hours is; this isn't calculated per hours per se, but weeks, months and one year of 12 months cycle. Say for example the total 1560 hours is divided by 30 hours a week that is you worked a complete 12 months without a break and with one or more employers. The period is what is calculated and not the hours, but your hours as a full-time worker shouldn't be lesser than 30 hours a week job. Take, for example, if you work 40 hours per week, that means you would be qualified for CEC by 39th weeks instead of 52 (Not qualified for CEC) The program or stream requirement says: 12 months of full-time employment of not less than 1560, which is 30 hours a week, or part-time of same equal amount of time over 2 years, so yr part-time could be 30 hours bi-weekly. In my case, I was working 3 weeks on and 10 days off, of those 3 weeks I worked 12 hours a day so 12 hours x 21 days = 252 hours in a month, I worked with the company for 8 months and that was 252 x 8 =2,016 hours, does that make me eligible? NO, I still completed the remainder 4 months with another company at 40 hours a week. So please please follow the rule, and please make sure you are working in the field of yr study. Good luck to all ahead.Need help!!
So I was working on B grade part time position from August 2019 to March 2020. During this time my hours were not fixed and I was paid bi-weekly. So there were few weeks where I worked more than 60 hours bi-weekly and few weeks where I worked 40-50 hours bi-weekly. Now going through entire thread it is to my understanding that if I worked bi-weekly 60+ hours I would count it as 2 week of full time experience. And for weeks where I worked anything less than 60 (because it's bi-weekly 30+30) I would all those hours and divide it by 30 and I will get equivalent full time week. Example bi-weekly 1 - 45
Bi-weekly 2- 58
Bi-weekly 3 - 38
Bi-weekly 4 - 40
So to convert this I would add up all the hours 45+58+38+40 = 181 and divide it by 30 = 6.03 Full time experience in weeks.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks
I'm not sure what you mean. And I believe if you apply under CEC you don't have to necessarily be employed in the field of your study. What you need to understand in calculating your 1560 hours is; this isn't calculated per hours per se, but weeks, months and one year of 12 months cycle. Again, your approach is not correct, at least not as simple as it could be. You're literally drowning yourself in a glass of water. You should be concerned about the hours. You are just making something very simple extremely complicated for no good reason. That is how I was calculating previously but going through this thread I thought it's more important to count weeks of experience than hours in total. And yes I work part-time (ish) from August 2019 to March 2020 and from March to September I worked full time (37 hrs each week). During 8 months of part time that is 32 weeks, I had at least 16 weeks where I worked more than 60 hours and adding that to full time for 26 weeks give me a total of 42 weeks full time. So I essential need just 10 weeks of more full time experience or equivalent of 600 hours in total from the rest 16 weeks of part time experience I have left to count.
Sorry mate and Im probably making it seem more difficult than it is.Again, your approach is not correct, at least not as simple as it could be. You're literally drowning yourself in a glass of water. All you need to do is keep adding hours just making sure not to add more than 30h per week. As simple as that. Once you reach 1560 that's it, by simple math it will take you at least 52 weeks fo get there. With part-time periods it will take more for sure.
No problem, we await to see the outcome of the result, if only you'll let us know.I'm not sure what you mean. And I believe if you apply under CEC you don't have to necessarily be employed in the field of your study.

Well there's no mention of being employed in your field of study sir. So your information is not exactly up to the mark. One is only required to gain skilled occupation in NOC 0 A or B garde.
Yes, that's correct.Sorry mate and Im probably making it seem more difficult than it is.
So one last time let me try by an example.
Bi weekly 1 - 65 = 60
Bi-weekly 2 - 45 = 45?
Bi-weekly 3 - 61 = 60
Bi-weekly 4 - 55 = 55?
What is my total experience here? Is it 60+45+60+55 = 220? Or something else? I think this should clarify or I'm just stupid.
There is no requirement of being employed in the field of study. The only requirement is that the NOC must be considered skilled (A, B or 0). That's itNo problem, we await to see the outcome of the result, if only you'll let us know.

My situation is similar.Yes, that's correct.
The hours that can be counted here are 60+45+60+55=220 hours and they correspond to an 8-week period.
At that rate, 1560-220= 1340 h left, you will need at least 1340/30= 44.67=45 weeks working at least 30h each week to meet the 1 year requirement. It will take more depending on how many weeks after these you have part-time work.
If you add 8 weeks + 44.67 weeks, it will take you in total 52.67 weeks (or 53 weeks to be practical) to meet the requirement instead of just 52 weeks (52*30=1560). This is because during periods 2 and 4 you had part time work (under 30 hours per week).
This is just an example of course but this should clarify everything.
Simply make sure to submit the application once you can have that additional paystub to account for the missing hours. There is no rush, trust me.My situation is similar.
I counted my hours as you stated in the example, thanks by the way. I did an excel, here a part of my excel.

Total 1542
I have at this time 1542 hours, until today (April 10,2021). My payments are Bi-weekly as well.
Let's say that I can receive the ITA next Thursday.
How will count the 18 hours left? I heard that they will count the hours until the day a person receives the invitation.
Thanks.
Should be okay. So you’ll have 1.5 years of work experience. You can’t count hours in excess of 30 hours /weekHello Everyone
Please if someone can help me with my situation
I have worked for an employer for 18 months under NOC B
My hours were 32 every week (most of the time it was above 40)
But I was employed as as a Part time employee (that's what it says on my experience letter - Part time 32hrs/week)
So can I count it as a year of experience (since I have worked more than 30 hours for 18 months)
Or the word 'Part time' on my experience letter would be an issue?
Thank you in advance
