Hello, I have an inquiry on behalf of a friend.
my husband started work on 1 10 2015 and handed in his resignation on 31 08 2018. ( Total of 2 yrs + 11 months) should this be 2 years or 3 years when we open the EE file? I am quite worried because the experience following that was in a different noc, and he might be the main applicant.
Thanks in advance,

That's less than 3 years so you can't claim 3 years based on that alone. Nonetheless, you can use the other experience even if it is in a different NOC to complete the 3 years.

To satisfy the FSW work requirement one only needs 1 year of continuous full-time paid work experience in your primary NOC. For CRS purposes and to complete the 3 years, you can count any work experience in the last 10 years even if it lasted less than 1 year and it's a different NOC than your primary.

I have read on the EE website that the experience has to be in only one NOC. Thanks a lot

No only in primary noc ,you need at least 1 year continuous.
Remaining can be in other nocs

It will be 2 years. Anything short of completing a year(even by a day) can not be counted as 1 full year.

All 3 of my work experiences had start and end dates somewhere in the middle of the month, and according to my gcms notes, the case analyst counted them all as if they were full months. I got credited with 3 or 4 extra months than I actually had.

That being said, the case here wouldn't qualify because the experience started 1st of the month and ended 31st.
However OP mentioned they have more experience in another NOC - therefore they can add that instead and still claim the points they need.

That makes sense

Are you sure ?The case will be like this :
2 years 11 months in one NOC
About 6 months in a totally different noc. The official site clearly states that it should be in one occupation.
Thanks all for replying

Only one experience needs to be at least one year long in your primary NOC.

The rest can be in any other 0/A/B NOC and can be used to add to your experience even if they are a month long.

I used two different NOCs and listed three experiences, only one of which was over a year long.
Job A - NOC 1 (primary) - 2 years
Job B - NOC 2 - 7 months
Job C - NOC 2 - 7 months

I got points for 3 years and I successfully got my PR.
