Hi folks,

Here is a case about foreign work experience, please give opinion:

Last exam of under-grad degree outside Canada: July 27, 2011

Result announced: August 25, 2011

Online transcript available: Sep. 20, 2011

Transcript issued: Sep. 30, 2011

Diploma issued: Sep. 30, 2011

Job started: August 1, 2011 (before result was announced)

Admission for masters abroad: Aug 21, 2012

Went abroad for masters: August 31, 2012

Now problem is that the time between the day I received final transcript & diploma (Sep 30,2011) and my flight going abroad (Aug 31,2011) is 11 months but I worked 13 months in real. Does it matter that i should have my diploma and final transcript showing all my exams passed in my hand before starting job and they would only consider the job experience after receiving diploma?Or I can say I worked 13 months?

Is there anyone who went through this thing personally?

I would appreciate any help in this regard.

Its confusing. They ask if studying while working. you have to answer that yes and I don't know if they deduct your one month or not.

Disclaimer: I have not gone through similar experience personally.

I would advise putting things like below. Final decision is yours.

Personal Activity history - Studying till 27th July. Unemployed for 4 days. Employed since 1st August.
Work experience - This will say you have been working since 1st August.
Study details - This will say you have studied till July 2011.

It is quite normal for colleges (at least here in India) to award degrees around Sept / December. By that time, almost everyone has secured a job and have started working. Sometimes the employers ask for a 'provisional degree' from the college.
