Hi Expert,

I wish to apply FSW 2014 with the 2172 category. I have three years’ experience with “2173 Software engineers and designers” and 4 years’ experience with “2172 Database analysts and data administrators”. That means I have a total 7 years’ experience of total. But as my current job is 2172 and also wish to apply with this category, so how many years they will consider? But both of jobs there were some similar activities/duties. Please share your experience.

Why dont you apply for something which is in sync with you current job! It would make more sense to do that since you have considerable years worth of experience. They will count all years that you have worked for the "total work experience".

One thing though, make sure you name the forum topic in way that it catches attention of senior members. By mentioning just "work experience", you will not get too much attention compared to something like "Category 2172 or 2173 - Question related to overlapping work experience". My 2 cents

Hi,

If you have job reference letters and other supporting documents (offer letter, experience/relieving letter, pay stubs) for both the jobs, then you will get 15 points (6 yrs exp.).

One of my previous company (employer) already closed and even there is no any exist, no any office even web site already expired (1st job from 2006-2008). What should I do regarding this issue? How I should prove it and what it the requirement?

from both the NOC's, if your ROLES match at least 60-70%, then you'll be awarded full points !!

closure of company won't be a problem, if you have the employment letters,roles letter. provide your references present contact info, if CIC wants to contact them, then it'll be easier.

every employer, has their own format, but ensure you brief your roles, hours, pay scale, title, company address, references addresses accurately.

Why dont you apply for something which is in sync with you current job! It would make more sense to do that since you have considerable years worth of experience. They will count all years that you have worked for the "total work experience"

-> Actually I am going to apply with my current job (2172 Database analysts and data administrators) which has almost 4 years experience. But as I mentioned that another job (my first job-“2173 Software engineers and designers”) which is also enlisted and have 3 years experience and almost 50% matching with current job. So hope I will get point for both.

-> Another, If I get minimum pass mark 67 then I will be eligible?

Suppose, you are not able to provide the Ref Letter from prev job (2173/3yrs), still if the VO is satisfied with your current Occupation 2172, 4+ yrs.. you will fetch 13 points (instead of max 15). With 13 points for Work exp factor.. are you not able to get 67 points in your Self Assessment ? If yes, then don't struggle getting letter for your earlier defunct co.

Yes, I will get 67 even If I get only 11 for work experience? What do you think regarding job experience when they could not able to verify or not get any feedback the closed company?
