Hi there,

I submitted my express entry profile a few days ago and I received a CRS score of 450, but when I did the same in the online tool I got a score of 475. Upon research, I noticed in CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience ' I am getting only 25 points compared to the 50 when I tried in the online tool. I worked two jobs from October 2017 to December 2019 with NOC A and the other job from Jan 2019 to present also in NOC A ( Same NOC code for both 2171). Whereas I selected the option that I worked 3 years as my understanding is Canada Express entry calculates the duration of a year by 30 hours a week and since I worked 40 hours a week during this period it would go over 3 years ( Based on the hours). Is this a mistake or is my understanding correct?

Also, my IELTS score is CLB 9.

Regards,

Jeson.

This only counts as 2 years of work experience. You cannot use the "extra" hours to create additional weeks. One week of work experience is only counted as a week regardless of whether you work 30, 40 or 90 hours.

Thank you for the clarification. Follow up question, my first job period was from 09th october 2017 to 14th december 2018 and my second job was from 22nd January to present, Do I need to consider the dates as well when I resubmit my express entry profile? OR can I just submit it on october 1st 2020.
