Hi there,

I read it somewhere here, but lost the page & post - can you link me to a place where I can see what is expected from a reference letter from our former and current employers, to prove work experience. Any templates, guides or instructions?

Thanks!

Here you go:

Copies of employment reference letters from previous/current employers for
all periods of work stated in the application that meet the following
requirements:

o Printed on company letterhead and identify company address,
telephone/fax numbers, email, and website addresses;
o Identify the responsible Officer/Supervisor and include his/her signature;
o Stamped with the company’s corporate seal (if applicable); AND
o Specify:
 Your employment period;
 Your positions held, duties and responsibilities during the employment
period for each position, and the time spent in each position (if
applicable);
 Your total annual salary plus benefits;
 Number of hours worked per week; and
 Any extended periods of leave (i.e., more than one month).

What is the source?

Document: Employment Records:
You must provide proof of each of your current and previous work experiences.
Your evidence should include a reference letter from your employer and previous pay stubs, where available.
The reference letter is an official document printed on company letterhead and must include your name, the company’s contact information (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the signature of your immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company and a business card of the person signing the letter. The letter should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties/responsibilities, job status (if current job), the dates you worked for the company, the number of work hours per week and your annual salary plus benefits.
You must scan all documents for this work experience and save them as one file. (Each work experience requires a separate file.)

source is the checklist which gets generated after you get an ITA.. hope it helps.. for sample in case you want refer http://www.fsw2014.info/sample-reference-letter/

Great, thanks!

Hey, this is really a helpful thread. Though, I have a question on the reference letter to be obtained crom the company I work for. Received ITA ON 11th draw and right now we are gathering all docs. I read/heard somewhere that one needs to submit multiple reference letters from different seniors for the same employer? Meaning, is it ok if I get single stamped and signed ref. letter as described above from my immediate boss or other senior authority?

I thNk you in advance...

You have heard it wrong. You don't need to submit multiple per employer; just one is enough.
