Work experience in a contract position

Guys,

If someone has fulltime experience for one year in a contracted position is that should be good enough to apply under CEC ? If anyone can clarify this. Thanks

Contract or no contract, as long as your working in your field (for which you went to school for) and met the hour requirements, such as 37.5 hours a week or 1950 hours of full time work, then you should be fine.

One year of work experience in a skilled position is only sufficient for the student category of CEC. If the OP is applying through the temporary foreign worker category of CEC they need 2 years and 3900 hours of skilled work experience in Canada to be eligible. Be aware of the other qualifications for this class as well, i.e. timeframe to apply, length of time of study in Canada, etc.

If someone says work for 9months in a contract position thats in one of the NOCs under CEC and after that get a job in a different NOC again eligible under CEC class, can they still apply under CEC ? or the experience has to be in the same NOC that they first started with. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, they would still qualify as long as the work experience was considered skilled and they meet the required number of hours. It doesn't have to be the same job.
