Hi guys ,

There is some confusion on this .

1)Whether your full - time work experience is counted for the period during your a full time academic / degree
2)Whether your full -time work experience is counted for the period during your part -time/distance education
3)Whether your part-time work experience is counted for the period during your full time academic/degree
4)Whether your part-time work experience is counted for the period during your part-time/distance education .

Note: Education taken outside Canada ...

any sort of job (whether part-time or full-time) during studying, in Canada, doesn't count into work experience :)

1. You cannot be a full-time student and simultaneously claim full-time work experience. That defeats the purpose of classifying something as "full-time".

2. Any part-time work experience gained while being a student inside Canada cannot be counted.

3. Any part-time work experience gained while being a part-time or full-time student outside Canada can be counted.

Thanks Asivad ,

I have a full time working experience and a distance education / part time master's ( both outside Canada) . Hope my work experience is valid at that time .

Hi Avisad,

I was awarded B.Sc degree(Canadian equivalent 3 yrs) in march 2015. I have been working since then in a qualifying NOC.
I am planning to score points in EE for two post secondary credentials. Therefore I am considering to enroll in a post graduate diploma course(1 yr distance part time) starting January 2016. While I do a full time job, I will also be doing this course.

I would like to know if it is possible to claim points for both the diploma and the work experience is they take place in the same time period?

please advise.

If it is part of your education, not paid or you are inside Canada under study permit then it is not considered. If it is paid and not part of the requirements to get your degree then it is considered.

Yes it is acceptable. Also verify if you do meet the minimum educational requirements for your NOC as per CIC website

Do I need to mention my restaurant part time job during my university under personal activity?

Even full time training work paid as stipend / allowance then also is it counted ?
