Hi all,
I've worked from Nov 9 2009 to Jul 23 2011 and from Sep 23 2012 to till date.
While creating my EE profile I mentioned NOV 2009 to JUL 2011 and SEP 2012 to till date (There is no option to put exact dates) which is automatically calculating 5 years. But mathematically it's not correct.
This is my concern.
Please let me know if I should except any invitation based on this calculation in next week or so.

Thanks,
Mukti

is this foreign or in-Canada work experience? If it is all foreign work experience, it will not have any impact on your points.

all in-canada experience
If it is awarding you points for 5 years and if on the day you receive ITA , your experience does not add up to exactly 5 years or more........... you should decline the invitation.

I would also ask in the EE section:

This is just a "bug" in the expression of interest application system. You are correct to be concerned, as ultimately, your eligibility will be calculated based on exact dates.

Because it is all "in Canada" experience, you will receive a different amount of points for 4 vs 5 years. This doesn't affect your basic eligibility, only your points.

If you receive an ITA -

Calculate your CRS based on having 4 years of in-Canada experience.

- If you still meet the required number of points for your draw, you can go ahead and apply.

- If you fall below the points threshold for your draw, you should decline the ITA. If you apply, you will be found "not eligible" because you didn't meet the requirements for the draw.

If you decline the ITA, you will be able to re-enter the pool and wait for another ITA. You'll complete the 5 years soon enough -

Good luck -

is there anyway to get my question answered by cic?
The only option is to call the CIC call centre, and hope you get accurate information (call centre personnel are not highly trained and often give inaccurate or confusing program information).

I emailed the same question to question@cic.gc.ca
do they reply?

As per my calculation my total score will be 452 on January 08 2016 but CIC is calculating the same from yesterday (when i created the profile). Guys please let me know if I've any chance of getting the ITA with this score, otherwise I'll try ielts for the 2nd time.
