Greetings!
I'm in a situation with Infosys, where they are refusing to provide a reference letter with job responsibilities. I worked at Infosys a long time ago so I don't think I can find anyone now who actually works there to get someone to vouch for me with a letter. The CIC website says that I have to mention every single employer that I worked for in the last 10 years but I already have an additional 5 years of experience in the US so I don't really need the Infosys experience from a points perspective.

My question, Can I leave it out of the employment history or do I have to mention it?
Secondly, It looks like the minimum required experience taken into account in an NOC category is 3 years for the points calculation but I have around 5 years in the NOC. Does the decision CIC takes on the FSW application depend on the total number of years of experience? or is it enough that I'm meeting their minimum expectations?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can leave it out if you don't want points for that experience.

For CRS, the maximum points for work experience accrue at 3 years of foreign experience and 2 years of Canadian expereince. For FSW points, the maximum points for work experience (15) accrue at 6+ years. For 4-5 years, you'll get 13 points instead.

Hi!

I would like to clarify the documentations needed for the job experiences.

I applied under express entry and learned that applicants are given only 60 days to submit all the requirements once they receive the ITA. In this concern, I tried searching for the possible listings of requirements so I can start collating them.

In one of the requirement listings I saw on the web for the job experience, the certifications do require detailed info like job description, salary and even the work hours. The current certificates I have do not contain all these info. May I clarify if this is indeed the standard requirement for all who will be submitting for the ITA? As I realized there are still paper based applications, I am not sure if these requirements are applicable to all kinds of applications. Bec since it will take time to request for new certifications, might as well that I start requesting for the correct ones. And is it necessary to provide pay slips as I do not keep copies of payslips from previous jobs?

Would greatly appreciate any advice on this matter.
And if you could provide links for the document checklist, it will also be a big help.
Thanks in advance!

Guys, any links/instructions on how reference should look like?

I've references but they were given a year ago - is this ok? or should they be current?

Please advise.

Andy, per my understanding, the references from past employers need not be current. As long as they're dated after your last day of employment and as long as they include the required information, they should be fine.

As to the format, I am copy-pasting below what another poster wrote in another thread (found here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/documents-to-produce-for-foreign-work-experience-t384359.0.html). I hope this helps. Best wishes.

"1. Employment Records Previous/ Current Job (Reference Letter)

You must provide proof of each of your current and previous work experiences.
Your evidence should include a reference letter from your employer and previous pay stubs, where available.

The reference letter is an official document printed on company letterhead and must include
a. your name,
b. The company's contact information (address, telephone number and e-mail address),
c. The signature of your immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company.
d. The letter should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details:
i. job title, duties/responsibilities,
ii. job status (if current job),
iii. the dates you worked for the company,
iv. the number of work hours per week and your annual salary plus benefits.

You must scan all documents for this work experience and save them as one file. (Each work experience requires a separate file).

2. Offer of Employment - Current Job (Offer letter)
Offer letter by the employer to you before starting the job
a. Should be stated on letter head
b. Should show your NOC
c. Job duties
d. Term of employment
e. Should be permanent and not seasonal

3. Letter of Employment - Current Job (Confirmation of Employment)"
