Hello,

Advice please! I am currently in Canada and have been since Feb 2016. I have been in my current job since Jan 2017 (Noc code B) and was in my previous job from March 2016 - November 2016. My title was Receptionist and Coordinator, Tenant services. Coordinator, Tenant Services is noc code B but Receptionist is noc code C. Here's the thing - my jobs duties are noc code B, it was just a formality that I had Receptionist in my title as I was sat at the front desk. My employer is happy to write my letter to say I was coordinator, tenant services only, as that was my role. My question is, do I say that my title was Also receptionist?

My current job is noc code B only so no problems there

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

hi Daisy,
does not matter what write your employer in refrence letter , because when you will apply you will submit your last t4 , your pay stubs and your work permit copy. cic will decide all on these legal basis documents and letter from your employer will not help in this matter.

LOL, the letter from the employer is the single most important document as proof of employment. But it is a fair question, what "title" shows on your supporting documents?

Job title is basically what your employer says it is, and the NOC is to be matched to the duties and responsibilities. If your employer left the word "receptionist" off of the letter, but as long as everything else confirms what you are saying, then it probably would be a good idea.

(The appearance of the word "Receptionist" could indeed create suspicion that you are doing an NOC C level job; that may sound contradictory, but VOs are on the lookout for applicants who give themselves a skill upgrade in order to qualify).

Of course I am not suggesting lying or hiding anything, but focusing on the important info.
