Hi there,

I am wondering in you can give me some clarification on phrases used in the guide to express entry for FSWP.

I am working in a Class B Skilled Trade NOC 5254 – ski and snowboard instructor.

I am currently about to travel to Canada on my second approved LMIA visa in the past two years The visa initial visa was from November 2014 – April 2015 (5 months) and my LMIA this year is from December 2015 – April 2015 (4 months).

• My first question being on the wording of “Generally, the offer of employment must not be for seasonal work”

Would it be classed as seasonal work If I were to receive a job offer (which I have had) for full time work in the same role (seasonally over winter) with the same company that has supplied my LMIA as a ski and snowboard instructor (NOC 5254) for the past two year.

I am not sure how ski and snowboard instructor could be classified as a skilled position if it were also deemed to be seasonal or is there an exception to this? Would ski and snowboard instructor be classed as seasonal and therefore be an invalid job offer?

• My second question is on the wording of “in the last 10 years how many years work experience do you have”

To classify as having “one year” worth of experience, is it the accumulation of 1560 hours of work over 10 years

OR

Do the 1560 have to be completed over 1 year (or 1560 part time over 2 years) to be counted as 1 year?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
From what I have seen in the forums, to be considered for a LMIA you need to have the word "permanent" in your job offer. By the sounds of it, yours sounds like a 4 month contract? I believe that will not suffice, unfortunately :(

Your second question, you need to have 1 year continuous experience atleast, where the 1560 hours are done in one year. But after that, you can accumulate hours. This is my understanding of it anyway, as it was the way I was assigned points.

I agree. Some members in the forum have reported rejections because the word "permanent" was not available on their job offer letter and YES, the definition of work experience = 1560 hours/year in the last 10 years!
