Hi all,

I'm a Canadian citizen living in Toronto. I applied for my wife's immigration from India where she is currently residing with her family.

I submitted the application last year Oct 24 2012 and it was received 2 days later. In Jan 2013 they requested my wife to send her passport to New Delhi.. which we did. Then in May 2013 they got back to her saying some supporting docs were missing and to send those ASAP.. which we did. Last month in June, someone from New Delhi office called her saying they were unable to locate her medical records and to provide them a date on when the medical was done so they will follow up with the office.

At this point, I'm wondering what is going on with her application. That & the current strikes going on. Seems like it will be a while before she is reunited with me here.
Unhappy atm.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what we can do? Any similar experiences? I'm frustrated with our foreign offices' lack of professionalism.

Well, you are stil within published processing times, so there isn't much you can do right now. NDVO's current time is 10 months.

At the 10 month mark, you can contact your MP and request s/he make an inquiry on your file.

Just so you understand, NDVO requests the passport at the beginning. All other VOs I'm aware of collect the passport at the end, when they are ready to issue the visa. Why NDVO does this, I don't know, but it certainly confuses a lot of people.

Thanks.

I don't know how they could misplace her medical records. That is so unprofessional imo.
