It does not matter if they fire you, lay you off or you quit. CEC is not tied to staying with the same employer. You only need to have qualified with enough hours and that is enough to apply. Once you have applied, nothing you do after that will affect your application. Also keep in mind that if they fire you without a good reason, you can sue them. A former employer of mine fired a woman and although they did have a reason, they did not follow proper procedure when firing her with a warning first and then a written warning etc. so she sued them. They settled the case for $10,000
