Hi All,
I realyl hope you can help me. My ex-husband applied for immigration to canada as a skilled worker under my sponsership, before i found out that he was just using me to come to canada. His application status is "In Process". I would like to cancel / withdraw the sponsorship application for personal reasons, he applied through an office/agency for his immigration.
My questions are :

1) Is it just send a signed letter and a fax to CIC sydney?
2) Will the agency be contacted, even if i put my address on the letter to cancel or withdraw?
3) What will the status be changed to, i mean will it appear as withdrawn?

My issue is that i want to know that if he sees the status of cancelled or withdrawn will ever be able to find out that a letter as sent.
I appreciate your help,
Regards,

Or is it a family sponorship?, before i found out that he was just using me to come to canada Sad. His application status is "In Process". I would like to cancel / withdraw the sponsorship application Is it family class?for personal reasons, he applied through an office/agency for his immigration.
My questions are :

1) Is it just send a signed letter and a fax to CIC sydney? If you are the principal applicant, all you need is an email to CIC or CHC
2) Will the agency be contacted, even if i put my address on the letter to cancel or withdraw? I don'tthink so.
3) What will the status be changed to, i mean will it appear as withdrawn? Withdrawn I guess.

My issue is that i want to know that if he sees the status of cancelled or withdrawn will ever be able to find out that a letter as sent. May be not immediately. But if he were to probe CHC he might be given the information.
I appreciate your help, Help has been given but may I say that it is not good to apply an eye for an eye. Why not move forward and forgive his childishness. Two wrongs won't make it right. Do have a forgiving heart bearing in mind you guys were once in LOVE. Just my 2cents!
Regards,

Thanks sooooo uch for your quick reply, i am still thinking about it. As he is an IT professional, he may not even received the visa, as i heard they are not looking for that profession anymore.

pls answer barsindoo's questions... were you under family sponsorship?!? were you the principal applicant?

@rslcanada - you don't need to be so aggressive, try to be polite to everyone, it is my choice to answer barsindoo's questions. So please dont be that way!!

and just for your information it was a family class sponsorship

i wasnt aggressive & impolite (did I say Pls....) ....you were so sensitive. we are here to help some forumers for their queries most esp you as a newbie here & knowing the whole situation will help us comment more to your questions.

100% agree for the last part... :)

Dear Maria,

As you are already in Canada and your ex-husband has appliled through your sponsorship, you can just withdraw your sponsorship to get his application cancelled/rejected citing reasons as 'divorce under process' or already divorced.
In case you are divorced than in no way he can use your sponsorship.

Hope that helps.
