Hi everyone, my spouse has received the LOA from Loyalist College missisuaga campus for Global Business Management (2 years program) for Jan 2021 (current education is MBA HR from UCP Lahore) and I had some concerns as;

1) How is this college and the course, shall we proceed further with the admission?

2) We want to travel together is it wise to apply under SDS with the dependent or student shall apply first and spouse dependent visa later after we get the study permit?

3) Under the current circumstances, what are the processing time for SDS application and spouse dependent visa.

THANKS

1- Never heard of it before and I live in Mississauga. May be try for a better university and/or known college.
2- You can apply together under SDS stream
3- No timelines are met at the moment. Students who applied in Feb are still waiting for visas.

Overall, I am not too sure that you are going to get visa for this program. Your wife has already done MBA HR and this is college graduate certificate, it's either at the same level or a lower what she currently has. You will need a very strong SOP and home ties to justify for this visa. Also you both are going to apply together, that makes her chances even slim since the intent seems to permanently move to Canada instead of getting education.

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone's doing great. I'm in the middle of applying for student permit for Winter 2021. Just wanted how much fund do I need to show in case I have been given financial assistance.

My overall tuition+administration+student union+medical/dental insurance (offered by university) is CA$ 12,945.

I have been awarded financial support/funding of CA$ 17,000 per year by the department. My letter of acceptance states this amount being guaranteed for first year and normally renewable for second year as well (my course is a two years masters).

I know that applicant need can show GIC of CA$ 10,000 covering living expenses for the first year.

My queries are:

- How much funds do I have to show considering the financial assistance given by the university?

- Do I have to purchase GIC of CA$10,000 twice because the proposed course of studies is 2 years?

- Do I have to just show tuition fee and not the other fees (administration/medical/dental insurance fee)?

Thank you very much for your help in this case.
