A chinese student who applied from London on late June has got his visa approval two days ago

applied oct 22. received request for biometrics today, oct 23. does it mean I passed the 1st stage. anyone with the same situation.

The biometric request is auto-generated, it is a requirement of submitting "complete application".

No it doesn't. Only receiving an AIP confirms this and only when an AIP is applicable. I'm not sure it still is.

Submitted on 16th oct from UAE.. done biometrics on 18th at vfs dubai. Currently reviewing eligiblity.

I applied from Oman, the visa office handling applications from here is Abu Dhabi. Applied on the 2nd of Sep, AIP on the 14th of Oct, BVL on the 22nd and OPR on the 23rd of Oct.

I am littile confused about OPR. Anyways you got the approval right.. i am worried about the application that too from UAE

OPR is an acronym for Original Passport Request. It comes in the form of a letter sent to your email account or GC Account. Yes, it means the application has been approved.

Congrats! So happy for you.. are they still issuing AIP for jan 2021 intake? How long it took for reviewing the eligibility?

Not sure if they're still issuing AIPs, I understand the 2 stage processing system has been suspended since 15th of Sep.

I'm planning to apply on 20th of November, I got delayed because of my IELTS. My IELTS is on 31st October and I'll get result within two weeks and I'll apply as soon as I get my result. Is it too late fore Winter'21 session, should I get my LOA deferred? I also wanted to ask how much of funds should I show? I'm applying under SDS so I have already paid my fees and GIC.

Why not computer-based IELTS?
