You have any idea how a background check is carried out? I read somewhere that its locally done but i came back to pakistan in august after spending 4 years abroad.

they dont check your background unless they have doubts about your travel history did you mention that you spent 4 years abroad?

Yep, while filling out my travel history i mentioned all the countries ive been to and the duration of the period i was in those countries.

Get in touch with some reputable consultant. They have colleges / universities on-board. They can suggest you the relevant courses/colleges. Also, you should work on your statement of purpose and explain your case well. Even, most colleges won't require it but do send it across and explain them your past, present and future plans. OR, can't you just enrolled in undergraduate diploma program based on your last diploma? Is it necessary to show your btech?

Background check is mostly across the security and criminal records. RCMP and CSIS are the designated bodies to carry out the criminality and security checks respectively. It's not performed for all TRV applicants but VO makes the case by case decision. There are global databases which are used by RCMP and CSIS to check the applicants' background.

If you have lived in more than one country (for more than 6 months), ideally you should submit PCC from each one of the country you have lived since you have turned 18. That helps in expediting the background check for your case.

bro i lived abroad from 2001 to 2008 but i didn't mention this thing in my application as i lost my old passport will this cause any issue?

Most probably it shouldn't have been an issue. What have you mentioned in your travel history? And what duration have you covered?
