Thanks!

In regards to your questions let's see:

(1) how long does it take to get LOA from MPNP?
It really depends, it is on a case to case basis, however, the average duration to get an LOA is around: 5-6 months. Although, some people are still waiting for an LOA and it has been more than a year for them.

(2) can I submit my application from Beijing to CIO, Nova Scotia, and choose Visa Office as Hong Kong instead of Singapore?

I believe you are right, if you will be residing in China, then, yes, your application will be based from Hong Kong instead of Singapore. As long as you provide your Chinese address in the CIO generic form so that they can base your application from Hong Kong.

...hth/ atb

Thanks for your valuable comments! By the way, is it very common for MPNP to re-submit bank statement or further documents before the final decision. I found in this forum many applicants have to submit updated documents such as Bank Statement and employment certificate.

You are welcome. That's true, I was asked to re-submit bank statement and employment certificate before I was approved LOA.

Congrats Tabs! We have our visa too. Can you share any pre-departure preparation tips? On packing, best deal ticketing agency etc. We are still on Cloud 9 and we don't know how to prepare specially that we have a 2 year old kid. Thanks in advance! :)

Congratulations to you as well. It does give that elated feeling. Especially yesterday when I got home from the Embassy and they corrected my visa. On my way home, I realized how final it is and that I have to start preparing.

First of all, which country are you coming from? Because it is usually different for each country. For instance, here in the Philippines, we have to go to a mandatory seminar and there are other optional seminars. And then we can actually get our drivers license certified so that we can save on driving insurance and lesser time to obtain a license in Canada. Try to find out if this is possible in your country (if you are not from the Philippines, that is).

Oh, don't forget to resign, LoL, if you are planning to land for good. I am a single applicant so I have no idea regarding moving with kids. But if you are looking for tickets, make sure you got 2pcs of luggage before paying. It is quite useful to have more than 1pc of luggage if you are moving for good. I still haven't got a ticket yet, looking for it, I have to call some agencies. If you are from the Philippines, St. Raphael and CIC travels seem to be really cheap and I am looking at expedia for online booking.

I will also be getting rid of some stuff, mostly giving them away, and I got lots of relatives and friends just asking them. Just don't know what to do with my books, I don't have time to sell them online, it's hard to arrange a meeting with buyers or even having the time to drop them at the couriers. Now that I gave a one month notice, the more I have lots to do at work. How about you? Got any tips for me?

hELLo there. I am a new member in this forum. I am just about to apply for MPNP but I have some things to clarify on.
1. I was able to open an account only this month. Do I still need to wait that it will aged for about 3-6 months or i can go for my application as long as the fund is enough?
2. I am from Cebu City and I have hard time looking where I can scan my documents as prescribed by MPNP online application.

I am looking forward for your help guys....thanks

Welcome to the forum. Here are my responses:

1. If you only opened your account, you have to wait for 6 months for that to mature for MPNP. But if your account has been there for a while, but you only deposited the required funds less than 6 months, then you can use this account. Having a new account with enough funds shows some doubts that the money isn't legit. And MPNP may ask for your latest statement in the future (if you are lucky) or just will deny the application. The risk is up to you.

2. How come you are having a hard time in scanning your documents? Surely, there are scanners that you can buy or internet cafes with such services?

I see i really need to wait for 6 months before I can apply. What if i will just transfer the funds to my fund under our cooperative in our company that is around 5 years old will it be fine even if its only now that i transferred a big amount in it?

yes there are scanning services in an internet cafe but my concern is there i a method in scanning which is preferred. In your case where did you scan your documents?

My other worry is that I already registered online with the MPNP and my user will expire by next month as what they have stated that it can be used for 90 days. What will happen then with my account if I will not be able to submit my application before my user will expire.

1. Your idea of moving your funds to another account should be fine. You might be asked to submit an updated statement in the future.
2. I scanned the documents myself, I have my own scanner.

Don't worry about the registration at MPNP, you can always create a new one if your 3 months registration expires.

There have been some applicants who were asked for an updated bank statement. Even I, with my account already 3 years old and have had the amount of funds for 2 years in the bank was asked for an updated bank statement.

Good luck.
