Hi tabs179, so far to the best of my knowledge I have asked these questions as well and no one has been asked to provide these docs (letter of employment and/or bank statement/proof of funds) at the CIC stage. However, this does not mean it is a total impossibility, but all these documents are ALL embedded into what informed the issuance of your Letter of Approval or the Nomination Certificate. Requesting for these docs will be a duplication of efforts. Unless, there is a real reason to do so, but we pray they do not request for a document that is NOT on the Document Checklist.

Meanwhile, in a case where a document requested on the Document Checklist is NOT available one stands a HUGE RISK of the entire application package being RETURNED as this was strictly emphasized. So we all want to ensure we do our own bit of the task..

Hope this gives a bit of clarity?

Thanks vmaac for the information you got especially from other people.

I was asked during my PNP application for current employment and bank statement before they provided me an LOA. So, I am kind of anxious that the same situation might happen to me upon CIC application and will further cause delays.

I would appreciate it if you hear any such news, please share me the thread. :)

Hi everyone,

Please help me enlighten with my problem..

I'm about to submit my application for provincial nominee to CIO, Nova Scotia and there is a processing fee receipt/form i need to submit with my application..I believe the processing fee is $550. Now, I want to pay online because the bank said that they are not generating a bank draft if their client has no dollar account (even if you have a savings account with them).

This is my question.. Do you think it is ok if I will use my sister's credit card in paying my processing fee? Because I am confused if the credit card that i will use should be under my name or is it okay if i will borrow my sister's credit card. My sister is willing to pay my application online and will just email to me the receipt to compile along with my application. I am here in the philippines and my sister is in canada.

Please reply guys.. It will really be appreciated.. Thank you so much

Hi istel0887,

I also paid online (recently submitted my application to CIC NS, just last week) through my bank account in UK (I am in currently ni PH). In my own research, you are allowed to pay your visa fees from another account holder as long as the amount of CAD$550 is taken in full from just one credit card.

See METHOD OF PAYMENT OPTIONS: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5620E.pdf

And there is an option to fill in the name of payer.

Mind you, that form is not for online payment. but the rules would be quite similar to online payment, as long as your sister is the one who will fill in the forms for you online. Double check that all details are correct before paying online. She can send you the pdf file (receipt) via email. And you can include print out of the receipt in your application.

I hope that's helpful.

Yes, you can use yor sisters credit card.

Can someone please explain the requirements for the POF? I thought it was suppose to be $10,000 for principal applicant and $2,000 for each dependant? but the cic website is giving me something different. checkout the website below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

Can someone please throw more light on this?

Dear Everyone,

For those who think that MPNP is not for them, they may want to explore under Federal Skilled Worker category for faster processing of permanent residency. My profession is included in the 24 in demand list but unfortunately I will not qualify because I am not practicing my profession at present. The FSW category would require at least one full year of practice in your profession within the 10 year period.

Please see the list of profession in the attached link together with the corresponding cap still available.

Hope this will help those who will qualify under FSW and not with the MPNP.

Please see link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Thank you.

Hi tabs179,

Thank you very much for your response..its really a big help because as of now using my sister's credit card in canada is the only possible option i can think of in paying my processing fee because my account here in the philippines is all in peso.

Please I still have one question, I called the bank which I have a credit card (because at first i really wanna pay my fee using my own card)but customer service representative told me that my card is only for single currency transaction only and what i should have is a dual currency card..I'm thinking that if i have the "dual currency card" still it will only cater peso and US dollar and not the Canadian dollar that I need to pay my fee..

This is my question..do you believe on what the representative has told me about my card?that it is only applicable for peso transaction only?because i think if cards are either in visa or master card make they are internationally acceptable for online payment..

Thank you and I wish you all the best on your application.

God bless.
