Dear all,

I am new about this site. I got the checklist of documents to send to visa office later on. BTW, my visa office is in singapore. I have to provide some original documents as requested, such as: transcripts and reference letters.

My question is: will the visa office return the original documents after everything is done ?

Thank you for your help.

some people here have said that they do return original but I think it is up to them. If you have one transcript, then get another from the university so you can send that along. Same with reference letters.
Good luck.

hi....

CHC delhi gave back only IELTS original. I do not know about the other visa offices. wait for other answers

for the manila office, they only return all origianal documents when the visa is issued.

Thank you for your info, rupeshhari. I will be okay to get another transcript from the university. Some problems I am facing about reference letters now are some offices where I used to work has moved to another place and I didn't know its new address; and the person who gave me the reference letter, did resign from the company some time ago. I don't know his contact number. Meanwhile, the new person who replaced his position didn't know me at all. Sigh... I must find out the solution.

Anyway, thank you so much for everything. I really appreciate it.

Hi sushid0c,

Thank you for your info. Perhaps, every visa office is different; however if visa office in Singapore looks like CHC Delhi, it means I have to get another. I have to prepare everything carefully, just in case they don't return the original documents.

Thank you for your info. I wish the Singapore office would return all original documents too.
All friends who have experiences with the Singapore office, would you please share your opinion ?

They ask only originals of those document that you can get easily from everywhere. In the US, for example, you can get as many transcripts or reference letters as you want. In my country I can get only one transcript that they attach to my diploma. I didn't sent original transcript to them only the copy. I just explained that this is the way we get diplomas in my country and there is no way for me to get another transcript if I lose this one. If you are in the same situation you can do the same.
What about reference letter if you cannot get one from the employer you can explain that to them. But then you have to get an employment contract or any other proof that you worked there.

About one of my reference letters, I need to explain to them that I neither get the original reference nor get the copy of employment contract to proof that I worked there because the company was bankrupt in Jan 2009. A friend of mine told me about it today.

Well, you can include any proof that you worked there. Even if it is bankrupt there is a way to get something. If you really work there information IRS of your country should have it on their file. They always have your emloyment history as you pay taxes.
