Will US B1/B2 visa denial affect my application for visitor visa to Canada?

Hello

I am planning to visit Canada in October/November for about 2 weeks.

I am from Vietnam, have a stable job now in my country. I have lived in Japan for like 8 years. I was married to a US citizen before. I have been to the US, Australia and some other countries in Asia.

I had tourist visa to the US before and been there for 5 months. I was there in 2011 Unfortunately when I applied for another tourist visa to the US last year, my application got rejected under 214B

Will this affect my application for tourist visa to Canada ?

Not necessarily but you should declare it as nobody here can say whether in reality it would or not but just make sure you cover the same reasons that your US visa was refused so not rejected for the same reason. For those not familiar with 214B it is listed here https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/denials.html and basically covers intentions of visit and ties to return to home country
