No I don't think so safe way is do not carry the boxes if they find it in your bag you can simply say its for your personal use

U should be able to carry them in you hand luggage... Am pretty sure they arE not in a box.. U should not have any problem.. Imagine.. 2 laptops, 3 iPhone n a playstation all of those were in the carry on. You just need to speak to the officers if they question you about them.

I would say keep the wii in the main luggage and the ps3 in your bag... Cos the main luggage at time they are opned by some offers... My bag was opned like 2 twice but i had no electronics in it but had alcohol bottles.

i would actually check in everything i want to keep my hands free honestly...
also how can those officers open our bags without our consent? I will have locks on them
Also so you sure that there would be any kind of tax levied on these articles?

It's there's nations security issue.. They leave a note if they open your bag. I would suggest you to check Canada's air Travel rules or check this site it might and all your questions.
Cheers.

For security reasons, airport authorities are authorized to break locks if needed to look inside suitcases. They don't need your permission.

As long as you are brining the electronics for personal use (rather than resale) - there won't be any tax levied.

If possible, it's better to take delicate electronics as carry-on (especially laptops). Suitcases can get tossed around and occasionally things get broken. I travel a great deal and always take all electronics with me as carry-on.
