The current LMIA process is a slow & protracted process. I have been biding my time for the last 10 months, waiting for an IT startup in BC to get a positive LMIA. But after 4 months of waiting each time it was negative.

I wonder if the current 12 -16 week long process would continue for companies wanting to hire from EE pool. I mean if the LMIA process exists in current form then there should be no "express" in the express entry right? ;D

I have the same question, I have a permanent job but dont think most employer would be willing to do LMIA or LMO

LMIA (formerly LMO) is not done by CIC. It's done by a totally independent government department so I doubt EE or whatever CIC does has anything impact on LMIA.

yes, there will be changes. CIC has indicated that LMIA applications for PR applicants will be free of charge.

Applicants (employee) have NEVER paid for LMO.

That's because employees don't apply for LMO. Employers are the applicants here :P

SIGH. Rephrase: CIC has indicated that LMIAs for employers who apply for PR applicants will be free of charge. If that doesn't make sense, read the link : )
