During my studies in university I had to take up a full time job, this made it so that my normally 5 year degree got delayed to 9 years. I certainly regret it but I really needed a job at the time.

Now I'm worried that when the organization (e.g. WES) that evaluates my bachelor degree will not be able to equate it to a Canadian degree because it took me so long. I'm sure that this fear has some merit but does anyone know if the time to get the degree is grounds to disqualify my credential?

Thank you for your time, would appreciate any input.

There isn't anything in their published terms and conditions nor in the regulations of IRCC that would make them not equate your degree. You can go ahead and submit your documents and hopefully they get back to you with a positive result.

And remember, even if WES rejected you , doesn't mean your dreams are over. You can still apply to another ECA provider and they can do the trick for you. The good thing about WES is that they cover pretty much all the globe and they know if your degree is matching or not
