I am going for the express entry, and when doing the 'check your eligibility' tool, one of the first questions is what's your desired location in Cananda.

I am wondering if the region/city I request will affect my chances of being invited (I'm asking this on a principal level, not regarding the tool itself). The way I see it, the more remote and unattractive the destination, the less people try for it, which probably creates a higher demand for skilled workers there.

What do you guys/gals think or know?
Thanks

It can reduce your chances being visible for certain provinces (if you do not choose them) as a potential PNP candidate (Ontario for example).

Doesn't matter as long as your answer is not Quebec. If it is Quebec your application is not eligible for express entry.

And down the road, does it make more sense to shoot for the less popular areas in order to increase chances?
