I am moving to Canada next month to work as a PM (Intra company transfer). As soon as i land there can i apply for PR for me and my family or is there any prerequisite or restrictions?. Thanks in advance for all the replies!

Experience: 13 years
Job: Project Manager
US experience : 7 years
 
No. You need two years of Canadian experience to apply.

Under the CEC program, current requirements are that you obtain 2 years of full time experience in Canada. That is supposed to change to 1 year (sometime in January 2013).

You might also look into the provincial nominee program for your province -

Or you can apply for PR under FSW2 ( skilled worker with Arranged Emplyment) as soon as you come to Canada...you will need a letter from your employer stating that you are employed with them and also stating that you will be emplyed with them even after you get your PR...pls check the skilled worker with arranged employment section on CIC website.
 
Thanks for your responses! Since i have to do this without employer help probably after 1 year experience i should try for a PR..hope the rule changes. Thanks!
