hi....i was just wondering weather a refusal from another country for visitor visa affect the PR application in any way???

Potentially. Depends on the reason for refusal. If it was for criminality, then YES.

No.

Sorry, that is incorrect. If the reason for the refusal had to do with criminality or misrepresentation, then it could of course affect your PR application. One of the questions asked on your PR application is whether you have been denied entry to Canada or any other country.

but if the reason is just because of lack of ties to your country (they are not satisfied), that's not a problem at all.

The Canadian officials will make their own decision if you have a criminal record or other adverse factors. They won't just say "Oh, country X denied this person, so we must deny him too."

No one was suggesting that CIC wouldn't make their own decision. Of course they will. Of course they wouldn't simply deny a visa to someone just because they've been denied by another country. BUT if the reason for the denial was for criminality then that could likewise lead to a denial for PR. If it was simply because whatever country you applied to wasn't convinced that you would return home, then that would have no impact. Obviously, it depends on the reason for the denial.

Hello,

I've been refused visa to Canada 3 times with no particular reason. It didn't affect my visa application to UK, US (I got my visas). A month ago my mum applied for a visa to Canada and got it refused (of course!). A week later she applied for a visa to visit my daughter (her granddaugther in Sweden) and she got the visa...

Canada is one of the difficult countries to deal with visitor's visa, that's really strange as it welcomes immigrants but refuses even a few days visit to see what a country like to immigrate to.

A friend of mine had been denied visa 3yrs ago to the Uk based not connected to criminality but did not state in in his application for PR.
Will that affect his application? Will it be denied ? Will they know?

that's hard to say, there are people who do not mention such things and never caught. it depends whether Canada has access to UK database.

Oh, i thought the OP is already in Canada and is in the process of applying for Permanent Residency so I was thinking any cause for inadmissibility (criminality or misrepresentation) would have already been addressed.

reason for this question is.....our application for PR is in already....we were looking to go to the UK for a vacation...im from a country were a uk visa is essintial....i have already applied for a UK visa....so i was wondering what would happen if it was refused???

Don't worry. That would have no effect on your PR application. Good luck.
