Hi,

I am applying as a federal skilled worker in the new express entry 2015, my wife's language is french, but they told me that she needs to take the English IELTS test, since I am applying for English provinces. Will she need to apply for the IELTS before we register for the Express entry. Also can she apply for the French test instead of the English test.

Thanks

No body knows the selection criteria for Express entry, However language would be a selection factor for sure. based on the selection criteria for other immigration points , its highly advisable to go for both IELTS and french language test, as most of the programs award points for second language as well

And considering the fact tht EE wont be on first come first serve basis, it would be a + if you go for both

Thanks for your answer, :)

I am the main applicant and my wife is the secondary. I only know english and I got 7.5 OBS on my IELTS. My wife knows both english and french, will it be be enough to take only one exam, I think they will give you only 5 points for the secondary applicant, on one language only, The second language will not count.
