Will my study permit extend

my study permit is expiring on august 31 but my next course starts in jan i applied for my study permit already . My last course started in sep 2016 and from may 2017 to aug 2017 its my coop semester .is there any chance that cic might reject my study permit extension due to this gap of sep to jan????
