I'm sorry if this has been answered in other posts already but I did look, I promise.
My husband is Canadian --- Lives in Canada
I am American --- Live in the U.S.

I am getting ready to get an appointment to get my medican exam done (FBI records are currently in process). They ask for a Visa Office processing the file on "Appendix C" (for Applications Outside Canada).
1- What office should I choose? I was gonna choose Detroit since it's closer to me. Would that be correct or would I need to select Ottawa? I thought I had the choice of LA, Detroit and Seattle. I'm getting really confussed. Please help.
2- Will this choice of Visa Office affect my sponsor? Will he be called for an interview of if he did, would he need to go to Detroit? I don't know if this choice would affect my husband since he lives in Canada and It'd be really difficult for him to travel to the US since he is still trying to get a travel waiver to the US (criminal background from over 15 years).
3.- Is this Visa Office for interview purposes for me only? since I live in the U.S? From what I understood...I send all my documents to my husband in Canada then he mails it to Mississauga along with his part of the paperwork. Once he gets approved, Mississauga sends the paperwork to where? a Visa Office in the US because here is where I live. Is that correct?
I think I'm so stressed out about all this paperwork that I can't think right. Sometimes I feel I got it but the more I read the more I get confused.

Thank you in advance.

1. You select CPP-Ottawa. The offices in L.A., Seattle and Detroit handled overflow for Buffalo, you couldn't select them as your processing office and still can't. If you must go to an interview (unlikely) you would select one of the offices close to you.

2. No, your sponsor will not be interviewed by the visa office. Usually applicants are interviewed, not sponsors, unless they happen to be present and the officer decides to clarify something with them.

3. An interview is not mandatory, it only happens if they doubt the relationship or the documents/information presented to support the application and wish to give you an opportunity to allay their concerns. So it is the exception, not the rule, and very few Canadian/American couples are interviewed (don't know of any on this forum so far).
