Hi there, I'm a British Citizen and have been in Canada on an IEC visa for two year prior to applying for PR via my common-law partner and a new OWP.

I previously had to get an up-front medical to remove restrictions on an OWP (I work in health-care) and i just had a thought.

When applying for my new OWP along with my PR i didn't get an upfront medical along with that application. Does this mean that in the new OWP i will have imposed restrictions again? (meaning that i can't work in health care) or is the fact i've been in Canada for the previous two years mean that it's fine?

Thankyou and hope we all get good news soon!

Medical normally needs to be within the last year so my guess is that you will get a work permit with restrictions.

If i do the medical ASAP, do you think the restrictions would be lifted from the new OWP as it's before it's processed?

I'll send IRCC a Webform and the copy of my medical exam.

Sorry - I don't know. I think it's worth a try.
