. I finished my bachelors slightly late. Took me 6 years because of personal illness. I was out of school for two years. Visa officer did not know what exactly transpired in between. My transcripts were issued in different dates. He asked me detailed exlanation for it. I guess he wanted to make sure I was not involved in other illegal activities. They are really strict now for any long educational gap. That's about it. He was okay with other aspects of my application like home ties, finance , misrepresentation, course mismatch, etc. What are your thoughts? Why did not he go for telephonic interview? He told me to reapply again at a personal level , like he wrote reapply again with updated offer letter. What does it mean? Any thoughts?Obeid_oo said:

I see, so what was the normal duration of completion of bachelors for ur degree? and how many years was the gap? ( they allow 1 year gap at most after completion of a degree or after high school)
well if it was personal illness then you can write a letter to the VO mentioning that this is why you finished late, also you have to attach some medical test reports of that illness if u want that to be considered,
but then again is it chronic illness that still can cause your medicals to go wrong? you have to be careful in that regard.
A friend here on the forum had a telephonic interview with the VI , but all he asked was whether his aunt was in Canada or not,
SO I guess he needs some feedback in the form of paperwork from your side that is acceptable
have u applied again ? depending on the deadline for your semester now you can check with college If u think your visa will be issued late ,

There is no such restriction at Pakistani universities. Once you are admitted, you can complete your degree whenever you wish, it might take 7 or 10 years or your whole life unless you cancel your admission personally. There is no edu gap after completion of my degree. I finished my last semester after a gap of 2 years. 4 years bachelors in Pakistan. I could be absent between studies due to many unseen factors. eg illness, family tragedy, etc
I already filed my case on feb 15 with deferral letter and all neccessary paperwork(medical reports) for may intake 2011. I am waiting for a final decision since my meds were already done. I applied in nov 2010 for january 2011 intake.
lets hope for the best. im expecting final decision by mid April.

When I applied, I didnt send the full documentation cuz I was not applying through any agent(they always screw things up), I sent some documents like after 4 days, but still they gave me visa in exact 3 weeks(because i emailed them that just tell me if you're gonna give me visa or not cuz I got admission in a paki uni, so I just wanted to start here) they just look for a excuse not to give u visa. they have already decided with the number of students they will give visa to each year. they dont even bother looking at some of the applications. and it depends alot on the age factor!!

Hey mm19, visa officer actually still wanted to process my application for Jan intake he used the term updated offer letter. My university did not issue me the updated offer letter. They told me go for deferral letter. I don't know if the same visa officer will review my case now. Magar Yar, if he was never interested in my case,just wanted to refuse my application he could refuse me on home tie issues but he didn't .He would never tell me to reapply again on a personal level. Let me know which visa officer tells you to reapply again on personal level. Things happen for a reason, he did not find any credible reason to refuse my application on other fronts he went for this minor issue. He just wanted to see what kind of genuine/non-genuine explanation/evidence i would present next time . If non-genuine, he would jump on it . Life must go on but it was a lot of fun to arrange things for study abroad edu. I gained a lot confidence, experience, knowledge during the process . It was a good educational experience itself . I still don't believe in quota system. My study plan was underlined with highlighter.
