I have to apply for Canadian study permit as I am going to Canadian university for graduation. The problem is that my mother applied for permanent residency to Canada and was refused. She has also been banned for 2 years under immigration and refugee protection act Section 40 (1) (a) and Section 40 (2) (a).Now the question is will her ban be a problem in my study permit case.My father will be supporting me financially for the permit.Although the embassy has the information about me,passport info and all because when my mother applied ,she did give information about her family. But the fact is that the ban is on her not me.So would this in any way effect me? I will have to give information about her when I apply for my case. Ryt?
Please help

Okay ,I know this all.Believe me I have read all the sections and subsection and the legal things.I know what is inadmissibility but the thing is I am not inadmissible ,My mother is .In the refusal letter it was mentioned that she can not enter Canada for 2 years.Nothing was written about her family being inadmissible. If all the family members would have been inadmissible then it should have been mentioned in the letter.Ryt? The section for family inadmissibility is 42 .It was not there on her refusal letter .I wish I could post the website link but this stupid forum would not allow it .

I just posted what is on the official CIC website. Obviously, your mother's inadmissibility is something that they will be aware of. They have clearly mentioned that it MAY affect your admissibility. Hopefully others can comment and shed more light on this issue.

Raaga sorry to say, but it's clearly mentioned in last point that "one of your family members is not allowed into Canada."
I understand what you all are mentioning. But it is just so unfair.I got 87 % in grade 12 and 8 Bands in IELTS .I have be offered admission by one of the best universities in Canada,UBC. I even got a scholarship. I just need a study permit not a PR. I am a genuine student and its too harsh that I could be denied a visa because of someone else.... :/

Look its just one of the factors they will consider. Your mother's ban from Canada wasn't something in your control and I am sure the VO will consider this. Make sure you submit an application that satisfies all their requirements.
